Federico Pizzuto — Fitness and End-Stage Rehab Coach
Federico Pizzuto is the Columbus Crew's Fitness & End-Stage Rehab Coach, having joined shortly after the beginning of the 2018 season after serving as the Performance Director for Porto FC’s Youth Academy – of Portugal’s First Division – from 2016-2018, where he worked with age groups from Under-15 to U-19.
Prior to his time as the Performance Director of Porto FC’s Youth Academy, Pizzuto worked as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Porto FC from 2015-2016, working with the U-13 through U-19 age groups. Before joining Porto FC’s Academy, Federico worked as an endurance coach for high-level runners from 2011-2015, conducting research on the physiology of running. During this time, Pizzuto had the chance to work with Olympic medalists.
Pizzuto graduated cum laude from the Universita degli Studi di Roma in 2013, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Science. In December of 2015, he earned his Master’s Degree in High-Performance Training from the Universidade do Porto.
A native of Calabria, Italy, Pizzuto currently resides in the Arena District of Columbus. He enjoys exercising, reading, and drinking coffee in his spare time.
